It's My Hair, Why Do You Care

Question of The Day: Why is natural hair a bad thing?

I had intentions of writing about why I decided to go natural and talking about my transition and the bc (big chop). Then  I heard about the Wendy Williams comment about Viola Davis wearing her natural hair to the Oscar's.

I can't  wrap my head around the how some else wears their hair can effect someone else. I believe that everyone has the right to rock their hair anyway the choose no matter if it be natural, relaxed, weave, wig ect. Hair is another  way to show creativity no matter how you choose to wear it. I have always like short hair and when I cut my relaxed hair I got a lot of mixed reviews most people really loved it, Although someone said I looked like a boy. My little sister asked why I didn't just get individual braids I was almost a little hurt  but I understood she wasn't used to my hair in a short Afro. Oh I almost forgot a friend of mine asked me if I was depressed when I cut my hair, when I asked her why she thought  would I have to be depressed to cut my hair her response was " Usually people cut their hair when they are depressed".

Natural is not nappy and how you choose to wear your crown should not be a determine who you are as a person.  Rock your hair how ever you choose it's your life, your hair and considering nobody else has to wear it who cares if they like it, love it , or hate it!  How you wear your hair is your choice don't let anybody's opinion effect how you wear your hair.

Natural Hair isn't for everybody and it never will be. You don't have to like it and you are entitled to your own opinion but negativity helps no one and can be discouraging  to women who are in the process of make a choice to becoming natural.  Natural is not Nappy

Please share your thoughts and opinions I would love to know what you think

Welcome

Welcome
Thank you for visiting, Finding Me Naturally this is my very first blog ever. I am very excited to see where this journey takes me. I am  newly natural it was honestly the hardest choice I have ever made. As I embark on this journey I will document  the highs and the lows, the good the bad and the ugly..... Probably not the ugly so much.  I hope that my blog can give encouragement to those who are in the process of becoming natural, those in the Transition stage or those who have done the Big Chop.

Hopefully we can grow together sharing ideas about products, regimens, styles, ect. Words of encouragement when the journey gets tough and  we are not sure if natural is for us.

Thanks,
GeriNicole
